What is Simhasana Breathwork?
Simhasana Breathwork is a somatic breathing practice, rooted in methods developed in the 1970s at the Esalen Institute in Northern California by psychiatrists Stanislav and Christina Grof, the founders of Holotropic Breathwork®. It induces deep emotional states, moving people toward more wholeness and inner healing. Simhasana Breathwork is shorter, offered through Zoom, and differs from other breathing techniques such as the Wim Hof Method, which focuses more on enhancing physical resilience, health, and performance. See the summary below for the key differences.
